Lubricating pumps test rig (research)

Manufacturer: Bimal S.r.L

Year: 2007

The test rig allows the characterization of the steady-state and dynamic performance of low-power positive displacement pumps (up to a maximum of 15 kW), operating with SAE 5W30 oil, in both open and closed circuit configurations. The rig is remotely controlled via a National Instruments real-time system. It is specifically configured for testing lubrication pumps for internal combustion engines (ICE), over a wide range of temperatures and rotational speeds. The load on the pump can be generated by a proportional valve, which can be controlled in either open-loop or closed-loop mode.
Together with an auxiliary supply unit, the rig can also be used for studies on gear lubrication via oil jet or on flow through the internal channels of rotating shafts.
