UNITE! Seed Fund Initiative

Developing and effectively enhancing the teaching and learning of “Fluid Power and Systems” in Higher Education

Approved and ongoing project (January 7, 2025 – December 31, 2025)

The goal of this seed fund proposal is to foster a shared international understanding for developing effective teaching strategies and approaches in fluid engineering and systems education. This collaborative initiative seeks to build upon and expand an exploratory project by creating accessible, application-oriented resources, including blended lectures, virtual workshops, and tailored demonstration labs. The proposal envisions designing courses with a cohesive and unified curriculum, featuring targeted lessons and structured assignments to encourage critical thinking, enhance problem-solving abilities, and simplify complex concepts into manageable insights. Emphasising best practices in integrating teaching with research, adhering to ethical and practical guidelines, applying fair principles, and implementing effective data management are essential steps toward sustainability in fluid systems education. This initiative aims to transform education in the field, turning traditional courses into refreshed, modernised offerings enriched with practical examples that deliver a hands-on and immersive learning experience.
